International Womens Day: Celebrating women in the natural & organic industry
International Women’s Day is is happening this Sunday, 8 March and we want to acknowledge and appreciate some wonderful women within the industry, including many of our speakers, supporters and exhibitors.
Dr. Hana Mušinović
Dr. Hana Mušinović is Regulatory and Scientific Manager at NATRUE, the international Natural and Organic Cosmetics Association, responsible for regulatory and scientific activities and for the update and interpretation of the NATRUE Label Criteria. As a Croatian national living abroad for the past 12 years throughout her studies and professional engagements, she has been involved in different interdisciplinary and international research projects.
Emma Bergqvist
Emma has 18 years’ experience of Green beauty as a products manager, marketing manager and spokesperson for Weleda in the Nordics. She is a licensed organic skin-therapist and one of the most well-known eco-beauty profiles in Sweden. In 2017 Emma co-founded Tree of Brands, a Nordic distributor of organic beauty and since June 2017 she is president of NOC Sweden. Emma was named the top personality in the Who’s Who in Green Beauty Scandinavia 2018.
Helle Borup Friberg
Helle is a senior executive in Organic Denmark and CEO of Økologisk Landsforening,with international leadership experience in general management, sustainability, strategy – and business development, sales and operations. She has been helping to promote organic in Denmark, at every level, from farmers and food producers to consumers.
Rosie Greenaway
As editor for Natural Products News and Natural Beauty News, Rosie helps to promote the natural and organic industry on a daily basis. Writing captivating stories about brands and informing the trade about trends, news and regulatory updates, she also regularly appears on panel sessions and is a judge and presenter for the Who’s Who in Green Beauty Scandinavia.
Charlotte Bladh André
Charlotte a leading voice in the organic food market who started the trade organisation Organic Sweden three years ago. As former chairman and now CEO, Charlotte has contributed to the organisation becoming an established platform for collaboration between companies and organisations that want to drive the development of the organic market. Charlotte was awarded the “The Organic Food Outstanding Achievement Award” during the Nordic Organic Food Fair in 2018.
Gunnel Akerman
Gunnel is CEO of Life Europe - the leading health chain in the Nordic region, offering e-commerce with 345 stores in Finland, Norway and Sweden . Their staff are trained health advisers helping to achieve a better balance in life (by promoting natural and organic clean label products to customers). Life received the Retailer of the Year in the 2019 Natural & Organic Products Awards Scandinavia.
Cecilia Sjöholm
As Director of Sustainable Eating and Public Affairs at Oatly, Cecilia was recently named one of the world’s 10 most innovative companies by business magazine Fast Company. Cecilia is also Chair for the industry association Växtbaserat Sverige (plant-based Sweden). Cecilia is key in helping Oatly to challenge the norm and promote sustainability and animal welfare in the industry.
Andrea Elisabeth Rudolph
Andrea is founder and CEO of Rudolph Care (a sustainable, certified organic luxury skincare brand) and the number one personality in the Who’s Who in Green Beauty Scandinavia 2019. Andrea has worked hard to offer a wide range of consumer-friendly natural and organic products. She has a lot of influence in Denmark with a credible backstory which she shares in a very open and convincing way. She has helped to combine luxury with organic to create a comprehensive skincare range available to consumers.
